This Easter!

This Easter weekend was amazing!

Thursday
Maundy Thursday service at Canterbury where they stripped the alter. It's such an amazing and moving act. I had to bite my lip from tearing up because we were in the choir chancel... Such a beautiful service.

Friday
Allison had a photo shoot on our front porch. She needed a door to use for a Halloween "Do It Yourself" kind of article for Lowe's. She ended up giving us a bunch of pillows and a porch rug and beautiful pots and plants! Such a huge improvement for our porch especially since we're now trying to sell the condo again. The past few days Keith and I have been sitting out there enjoying the Spring weather. It's just glorious! - Anyway, during the shoot, I went to Publix and got a bunch of groceries (by the way, Keith didn't get the day off - that's why I haven't mentioned him yet)... When I got home from the store everyone was done with the shoot so I decided to drive out to Irondale and surprise my Nana and Papa and Mom (who I talked on the phone with the whole drive and she had no idea). I rarely get to visit them and this was such a huge surprise! I only stayed a little while but it was such a wonderful visit. Then I drove to Lowe's and met up with my sister who was shopping for plants (for her porch) and I bought some hanging baskets for some ferns my mom got me earlier that day (she put two chocolate bunnies in them like they were Easter baskets haha - while I was at the store). So, I came home and planted the ferns and spent several hours hanging them and repotting my bay leaf sprig/tree... Mom came over and helped me line up the ferns and then Keith came home. I got a shower and we then went to our Good Friday service. We came home watched "Angels and Demons" then went to bed! Such a GOOD Friday!!!! :o)

Saturday
We slept in! Lovely! Keith had a gift card to Old Navy so we went and bought him practically an entire wardrobe for Spring/Summer... They were having a great big Easter sale. Champs was also having a huge sale so we got him some basketball shorts (at least 4 pairs) since he loves them but they're usually too expensive! He was sooooo happy! I was happy for him. Plus, he's lost a bunch of weight so he's able to try on clothes and be excited about how everything fits! His shorts were the same size that he wore in (I think) 4th grade... something like that! He's worked so hard and he looks and feels soooo wonderful. - That afternoon we watched our Annual Easter Movie "Ben Hur" and that took most of the afternoon. Wonderful Day!

Sunday
Both services were extremely beautiful and majestic. Keith played trumpet and brought in two of his friends (another trumpeter, Ben, and a trombone player, Brandon) along with Lester's french horn player to play brass on all the hymns. Absolutely glorious! So proud! In between the services we had a huge breakfast provided by choir members. Then in the afternoon we slept and watched movies did laundry -I cleaned up my old herb garden in the back... another wonderful day. We also went walking and hung out on Mom and Dad's porch while Mom gardened.

I've been waiting for a glorious weekend like this past one. The Spring is so inviting and refreshing. It was very much needed. I hope everyone else had an Easter like ours. It was such a blessing.
